What MAKTAB is
Launched 6 January 2026 by HEC. SAP S/4HANA ERP core, a customised Student Lifecycle Management layer, Blackboard as the LMS standard, and an IAM programme intending to link student data across the 25 ERP universities for instantly verifiable degrees. Implemented by delivery partners including TallyMarks Consulting. It occupies the public-university segment completely — and no other segment at all.

World-class accounting
S/4HANA FI/CO with funds management and procurement depth no challenger should rebuild. Our own architecture says ACC = integrate, not build.
Public-sector credibility & scale
Government procurement, audit trails, 25-universe scale, World Bank funding. At R6-public, SAP is the buyer’s safe answer.
Research administration
University research office workflows at a depth our RES family treats as reference.
HEC-native integration
MAKTAB is HEC’s own platform — its returns and IAM are first-party. Nobody out-integrates the owner.
Where we win — and why we don’t fight
SAP’s market is 25 public universities. Ours is everyone else: 3,500+ TVET institutes, 1,700+ affiliated colleges, tens of thousands of schools and academies — segments SAP will never serve at PKR 5,000/month. At R6 we are a companion, not a competitor: the exam cell, fee counter, HEC-returns prep, NBEAC/PEC workflow and student app layered on top of their SAP. The REG family — 19 modules encoding 19 authorities — is something MAKTAB itself does not carry beyond its own returns.
